Join us for a special performance by the Martha Kato Trio, featuring pianist, composer, and arranger Martha Kato alongside trumpeter Takuya Kuroda and bassist Pablo Menares. Experience a blend of original compositions and jazz standards, with Kato also lending her voice to select pieces. Originally from Nagoya, Japan, Martha Kato is now based in New York. A graduate of Juilliard and The New School, she has performed internationally at venues such as Blue Note Tokyo, Dizzy’s Club, and Smalls, and appears on Grammy-nominated recordings with Remy Le Boeuf. Her debut album Tales from the Trees blends jazz with global influences, highlighting both her compositional voice and vocal work. Her accolades include the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award and second place at the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition in Kawasaki.
